Beautiful landscapes of a district and variety of historic monuments create many opportunities to develop tourism. Western Warsaw District located nearby Warsaw is a great place to relax for those who are tired of urban rumble. The old manor houses, palaces, historic places, walks running through Kampinos Forest, resting at the lake or in the saddle, are the offers to organize interesting trips.

Kampinos National Park takes up around 33% of the district area which is characterized by a varied, as for low-lying lands, relief. The landscape is full of contrasts, in which sand-dunes as well as swampy lands dominate. The flora of Kampinos Forest was formed within last several thousands of years. There are 51 kinds of trees and 47 kinds of bushes. The most popular trees are pines, black alder, oak and birch. On the fertile lands deciduous forests grow consisting of oaks, harnbeams, limes and clones. There are 16,5 thousands species of animals in the area of Kampinos Forest. The biggest, out of 50 species of mammals, is the elk, being a symbol of a National Kampinos Park. There are also roe deers, wild boars, deers and beavers. The representatives of predators are among others: martens, foxes, raccoon dogs and lynxes, which after many years came back to the forest steppes.

Kampinos National Park is a very exceptional place, not only because it has natural values but it is a real treasury of national times. There are numerous architectural monuments such as: the church in Kampinos, manor house in Lipków, graves and memorial places.

The scenery of Kampinos Forest was frequently an inspiration for the artists and poets. Painters, photographers and film producers use its scenery.
